Dell Vostro 3350 13-inch Laptop Computer

Dell Vostro 3350 Laptop Computer Price in the Philippines, Features, and Other Details: Stylish and durable laptop computers are often that of the business-oriented models. However, these laptops have often emphasized function over form and specifications. To address this, Dell has released its business laptop last year, the Vostro 3350, which offers some potential in being stylistic as well as functional. It is a versatile laptop sporting the latest generation Intel Core i7 processor, 6 GB worth of RAM, dedicated Radeon graphics chip and a fast 750GB hard drive – all within a durable and attractive aluminum chassis and good battery life.

The design of the Dell Vostro 3350 is quite minimalistic but very aesthetically pleasing just the same. It also has some edgy lines making it look kind of rugged. The silver aluminum is finished with a standard texture and looks great but there are versions with a little more color in them like Lucerne Red and Brisbane Bronze. The default wallpaper that comes upon purchase of the laptop also matches the color of the lid.

The look and feel of the Dell Vostro 3350 is a little closer to the Latitude except for the bulk. The battery that is optional and has specifications of 80 Wh/ 52040 mAh that can be attached to the unit can even add to this bulk, making the laptop looks somewhat clumsy. In total, all the metals employed in building the unit adds up to a weight of 2.2 kg and with the extended battery, it might get more difficult to pack the laptop in a normal sleeve without having to detach the battery first.

Despite of those, the Dell Vostro 3350’s build quality is still solid, and the weight is evenly distributed. For those parts that used plastics, they are thick enough to feel solid, matte finished, and very hard. Likewise there is not doubt that the aluminum shell can withstand any onslaught that a laptop may encounter while traveling from one place to another. However, there is still some flex on its lid, but in general, this would not get in the way of the user in the course of an average usage.

Connectivity wise, the Dell Vostro 3350 offers a good assortment although it lacks an ExpressCard slot. On the left are two USB v 3.0 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and a tray loading DVD writer sporting a clever recessed button for ejecting. On the front is an SDXC card reader, while on the right are both VGA and HDMI for videos, headphone and microphone jacks, and a combined USB v 2.0/eSATA port that allows for maximum speed with older external drives. Wireless connectivity on the other hand comprises of both Wi-Fi N, Bluetooth 3.0 and there’s even an optional mobile broadband when one desires so.

As for the keyboard, the Dell Vostro 3350 features a superior set of keys that have nice feedback response and contains a good amount of travel. The keyboard is layouted in a chiclet manner that is stylistic, far pleasing in utility than those in the standard models from the company. It is also spill resistant and has an attractive white backlighting but this is optional and only depends on the version. The board also offers some intelligent shortcuts for people that tend to go over the board fast. However, the presence of the protruding battery can tilt the board significantly. The touchpad on the other hand has a pleasantly smooth surface and features individual buttons that are well placed over the surface, and except for the sharp edging, using the touchpad is as seamless as it can get.

The Dell Vostro 3305 features a 13.3-inch panel with 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution. The screen is semi-matte and holds up on its own with backlighting. Viewing angles are at an average while contrast is not so great. Essentially, the screen is more than enough for productivity purposes, but it will not cater a great deal for entertainment.

Performance-wise, the Dell Vostro 3350 is offered in a variety of versions depending on the user’s budget and required computing capabilities. In terms of system performance, it just about matches that of the Toshiba Satellite R380-143, but as mentioned, the graphics it contains is not enough to make gaming experience very enjoyable.

Overall, the Dell Vostro 3350 succeeds on being attractive but it does only have an average screen and the battery can add to the bulk. Performance is average though and expected for any laptop of its category.
