HP Deskjet 3050A All-in-One Printer

HP Deskjet 3050A All-in-One Printer Price in the Philippines, Features, and Other Info: The Deskjet 3050A is a multi-function printer from HP that is, more than anything, built for productivity. This, despite the fact that it only uses two sets of ink cartridges. It has a built-in wireless connectivity system that lets a user print files immediately without plugging the computer to the printer first, a rather convenient set up for someone who always has something to print on the fly. It also comes with a mobile printing mode that runs in conjunction with an HP application on smartphones. In addition, it also has the company’s own ePrint printing service, a process that lets the user access downloadable contents from any computer. Perhaps the best proof that the HP Deskjet 3050A is built for productivity comes in the form of its 60-sheet input capacity, and low volume ink cartridges. Both of these can cater decently enough for large offices, and at the same time, will not cost much.

Design-wise, the HP Deskjet 3050A has a rather aesthetic appeal, with a flowing curvature that the company claims to have been inspired by mid 20th century furniture makers. The chassis is brushed with different shades of matted gray, and a sort of burnt amber hue that altogether gives it a sophisticated, and at the same time unique look. The device can be easily stowed away in a corner, with the input tray itself smoothly folding into the body of the unit. It has an adjustable marker that can be aligned to suit a variety of paper and media sizes right down to No. 10 envelopes. Other markings include that for the standard-sized 4 x 5 inch and 8 x 10 inch photo papers.

The 2-inch monochrome LCD of the HP Deskjet 3050A beautifully pops out on top through a perfect cut out. The panel is used to access its various application controls, set up the menu, and at the same time houses the functions that enable the user to install into the wireless network for remote printing.

Network pairing with the HP Deskjet 3050A is rather easy. A USB connection may be used, but simpler and more elegant still is through a wireless router. Another advantage of this system is that it lets the user access the company’s ePrint system. The system, aside from being able to serve as a file storage site, also lets one send printing jobs directly to the machine through an email address. It can handle virtually all forms of documents and attachments like images, standard text files, PDFs, and even photos. It also works with a wide range of email clients including Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, and Microsoft Outlook.

The HP Deskjet 3050A however lacks a networked Ethernet port so, sadly, only one user can access the printer at the same time. The network though can be set up such that there can only be a certain list of people allowed to print on the machine, something that would work best for limiting traffic usage specially in a large office setting.

As for the scanner, the flatbed of the HP Deskjet 3050A can accommodate up to 8.5 x 11.7 inch documents, but the hardware itself doesn’t have an expandable hinge for thick media and books. It doesn’t come with a USB port for saving the resulting scans though, so those that deal with photographs and other images a lot like photographers and digital artists might need to resort to other printer models for convenience.

Performance-wise, the HP Deskjet 3050A prints slightly faster compared to its competitions despite the fact that it is well within the budget category. Working with graphics though can lag the printing time. Printing quality are a mixed bunch, with texts coming out looking average and not so well formed, and graphics tend to have slightly muted colors and not much detailing especially in their thicker areas. The scanner on the other hand produces images at 1200dpi, something that is more than enough for home use, and very decent for standard office settings. The scan is accurate in terms of color reproduction and the detailing is also decent. In terms of copy speeds, like its printing, the 3050A can be fast too and will take just about under 20 seconds to produce a black and white copy of a document. Copy quality is above average, with some nice detailing too.

Overall, the HP Deskjet 3050A can be a nice option for a budget-friendly printer.
